CCHL Recap | Canadians, Grads and Lumber Kings Win Sunday Games

Ottawa, ON – On Sunday afternoon the Carleton Place Canadians hosted the Kemptville 73’s, after 60-minutes the Canadians won 3-1. The Navan Grads hosted the Nepean Raiders, in overtime the Grads won 4-3. The Pembroke Lumber Kings hosted the Hawkesbury Hawks, where the Lumber Kings won 3-2.

F | Kemptville 1 Carleton Place 3

The first period saw goals from Thomas Enrietto for Carleton Place and Tyler Melvin for Kemptville, setting the tone for an evenly contested game. The second period passed without any scoring action. Carleton Place’s Noah Kinloch Varga emerged as the hero with two crucial goals, securing the win for his team. Kemptville’s goaltender Jacob Bironmade 37 saves, Carleton Place’s Ian Vandenberg made 31 saves. 

F | Nepean 2 Navan 3 (OT)

The action kicked off with Colin MacDougall notching one for Navan in the first period. Navan continued their momentum into the second period with goals from Devon Savignac. However, Nepean fought back fiercely, with goals from Joshua Reid and Brandon Reinisch. The third period saw Shaan Kingwell extend Navan’s lead, but Nepean’s Oliver Band tied it up. In a tense overtime period, Cristobal Tola clinched victory for Navan. Nepean’s John Gedraitis made 51 saves, while Navan’s Hadyn Gould made 40 saves. 

F | Hawkesbury 2 Pembroke 3

The first period saw Aidan Stubbings scoring for Hawkesbury. The second period remained scoreless. In the third period, Pembroke’s Jayson Alegria, Charlie Blewett, and Liam Cardiff each found the back of the net, while Deklyn Campbell responded with a goal for Hawkesbury. Hawkesbury’s goaltender Caleb Chabot, who made 30 saves, Pembroke’s Kevin Jones made 23 saves of his own.
